DAYS / 4 nights

Few places are still as undiscovered like the hidden fjords of Northern Norway. The roughed high peak mountains, deep wild fjords unpopulated, islands covered with glaciers and a spectacular wildlife making this area an experience of a lifetime adventure. Sailing through this spectacular wilderness scenery has a humbling impact on those travellers entering into the great northern land, filled with wildlife and people with fascinating history.

This area of Northern Norway was for a long time in Europe history the boarder to unknown land – the ultima thule. Still this vast landscape is filled with secret wilderness for those who journey through it’s dramatic fjords, and coastal scenery. Eagles are souring around mountain peaks, killer whales and other cetaceans feed in the fjords, seals and otters are common. The fresh local seafood is a feelgood experience and together with local fishermen and farmers we secure a adventure of lifetime.

For the last couple of years huge numbers of Orcas and Humpback Whales have joined an annual hunt for herring in the North-Norwegian fjords during wintertime. We are sailing in the area where the herring feast is expected. But, as the traveling pattern of both the whales and herring is rather unpredictable we aim to be highly flexible with our schedule and route.

Join us onboard for one of our exciting tours in true yacht expedition style! We will have great opportunities to discover the hidden places seldom visited and experience the wildlife living there.

This is the ultimate whale & northern light expediton

Day 1: Arrive Tromsø.
Arriving Tromsø, located 350 km north of the Polar Circle. After the transfer from the airport to the ship M/Y KINFISH (on the waterfront pier in Tromsø harbour) we have some free time in the city centre. Tromsø is known as the “Gateway to the Arctic” and located on an island it is surrounded by perpetually snow-clad, mile-high peaks. After lunch, we will spend the afternoon visiting the “Polar Museum”, where we will learn about early days of polar explorers who often started their journeys from here. During the evening, we will invite you for a cocktail, followed by dinner, and a chance to meet your new shipmates. The ship will set sail during evening towards the fjord areas. Leaving the harbour and thus the light pollution of the city, we might already have the chance of seeing Northern Lights this evening.

Day 2-4: Expedition cruising in hidden fjords of Northern Norway
From now on we are in full expedition mode, cruising along the spectacular fjords and snow-covered mountains. The itinerary for the following days will be highly dependent on the weather conditions and the wildlife. Our Plan A will be cruising Northeast towards Kvænangen at the border to Finnmark where we also hope to spot White-tailed Eagles, Humpbacks whales or Orcas from the ship. Depending on our exact route we plan to visit places like Reinfjord, Spildra, Skorpa, Jøkelfjorden or Valanhamn. We aim to stay at least one night at a remote pier in order to hopefully not only enjoy the Northern Lights, but also to take fair photographs of the phenomena.

Day 5: Returning to Tromsø for disembarking
During the night our compass is been set for our return to Tromsø After morning breakfast transfer to the airport. for those of you staying doing the extension will be transfered to your hotell.

Please note: The expedition’s exact route will depend on the weather and the wildlife. The Captain and the Expedition Leader will do everything in their power to maximise our experience. Flexibility is the key to a successful expedition!
